Allegro Programming

This section focuses on programming 2D games using C++ and the Allegro library.

In order for these games to work you must have the Allegro library installed on your computer. If you do not have it installed you must download one of these DLL's, alleg40.dll or alleg42.dll, and place it in your C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 folder.

All projects, tutorials, and videos were made by me and are free for you to use and learn from.

This was the second year my brother, Tino Restivo, and I created a game for the SpeedHack Competition 2007. We had 72 hours to create a game from scratch and so we decided to make a couple of short mini games where you have to escape from the police by staying on the screen until time expires.

My brother, Tino Restivo, and I created this game for the SpeedHack Competition 2006. We had 72 hours to create a game from scratch and so we decided to make a 2D side-scrolling game. The object of this 2 player co-op game is to control 2 tanks and shoot at the planes and bombs without getting hit.

Mode7 Racing

This is the beginning of a Mode7 racing game. Currently I am using images from Super Mario Kart but I will eventually make my own tracks and characters. Mode7 is a technique used on the SNES console that takes a 2D image and makes it look 3D by using perspective, and the 2 most popular SNES games that use Mode7 are Super Mario Kart and F-Zero.

This is the first game I made using Allegro. You play as the green tank and you try to shoot and destroy the red tank. Options include changing the type of Enemy AI, the amount of Ammo, and the amount of Health.
